Jan René Aguirre Palme

Managing Director

 Jan René Aguirre Palme is a Managing Director at Seale & Associates, where he leads the firm’s Capital Advisory practice in Mexico. His focus includes debt advisory, private credit, structured finance, acquisition finance, recapitalizations, restructurings, special situations, and mergers & acquisitions.

Jan has more than 18 years of experience across investment banking, principal investing, and operating businesses, with transaction experience representing more than US$25 billion in aggregate announced value. His experience spans M&A, debt and equity capital markets, private credit, structured finance, real estate, restructurings, and recapitalizations across Mexico and Latin America.

Prior to joining Seale & Associates, Jan served as Head of Capital Solutions for Hilco Global Mexico, where he led the firm’s activities across Special Situations, Asset-Based Lending, and Private Credit. He built and institutionalized Hilco’s Mexico Capital Solutions platform, developed its underwriting and investment framework, and presented investment opportunities and platform strategy directly to senior management at ORIX USA and ORIX Corporation.

Earlier in his career, Jan was a Vice President at VACE Partners and began his investment banking career with Citigroup Corporate & Investment Banking, where he worked across M&A, Equity Capital Markets, and Debt Capital Markets transactions in Mexico and Latin America.

In addition to his advisory and investing experience, Jan has founded and operated businesses in Mexico. He founded and scaled ProAmbi, an environmental services company, built a 60-person organization, raised institutional equity capital, and ultimately sold the business to a private equity investor. He later founded and led Aceros Impulso, providing him with first-hand operating experience across growth, working capital management, liquidity management, and creditor relationships.

Jan received his MBA from IE Business School in Madrid, where he graduated with honors and was elected to the Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society. He also completed executive education at Harvard Business School and holds a degree in Business Administration from Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City.
